Anomalous Floquet Chiral Topological Superconductivity in a Topological Insulator Sandwich Structure

We show that Floquet chiral topological superconductivity arises naturally in Josephson junctions made of magnetic insulator-superconductor sandwich structures. The phase modulation associated with an applied bias voltage across the junction drives system into anomalous superconductor hosting Majorana edge modes quasienergy spectrum, bulk bands carrying zero Chern numbers. acts as a tuning parameter enabling novel dynamical quantum transitions driving myriad exotic Majorana-carrying superconducting phases. Our theory establishes new paradigm for realizing solid-state systems, which should be experimentally directly accessible.
